In 1942 Aaron Copland wrote Lincoln Portrait, a work that has deeply touched the American consciousness; here narrated by noted actor Geoffrey Owens (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Haves and Have Nots). Inspired by a dance between President Barack Obama and Ellen DeGeneres in 2007, Dancers, Dreamers and Presidents is an orchestral tone poem composed by ASU’s own Daniel Bernard Roumain.
